I lived with my boyfriend over the year, moved in with him under circumstances ( I need him). The situation is bothering me because I think that woman that lives with man without marriage is selling herself short.

You are absolutely selling yourself short. Been there done that - BAD BAD idea! Move out! If a man loves you he will want you as his wife. You are basically a test drive, nothing more.

I think it's a necessary prerequisite to marriage. Anyone who marries another person without first living with him or her is crazy... it's impossible to really know someone until you've lived together; all the dynamics are different and it provides an indication of how successful you'll be together as husband and wife.

I think you're only selling yourself short if you WANT more (i.e. marriage) and he's refusing, yet you continue to live with him. If you move in together to help each other out, to spend time with them, and to verify your compatability in living together before you get married, then I say go for it. It can be a great thing.

my wife and i cohabitated for years before marriage. we have a very strong relationship 19 years after we 1st met. don't sweat it...
