I liked all the anger. I prefer the smitey, shouty god to the cuddly girly N/T god

A second century heretic named Marcion came up with this idea that there were two gods (one in the old and the other in the new). Marcion completely rejected the Old Testament and the god Marcion described as mean and unpredictable. Marcion embraced Jesus as the new god, and Marcion picked and chose what he personally thought belonged in the New Testament. He didn't just accept or reject whole books, but he went through the New Testament, verse by verse, claiming that God had given Marcion a special knowledge (gnosis) to distinguish what was God's Word and what was not.

Sound familiar? Different heretical groups today do the same thing. The "Jesus Seminar," for example, is a group of people who sit around picking and choosing what they believe belongs in the New Testament. If I'm not mistaken, all they could agree upon was the Lord's prayer. Brown's DAVINCI CODE has convinced the historically ignorant that there was a conspiracy in the early church led by Emperor Constantine to keep certain documents out of the biblical canon.

Be aware of this tired old set of lies. The church initially dealt with Marcion's heresy by asking God to fill the leaders of the church with the Holy Spirit while they corporately recognized which writings God intended to be included in the Bible and which did not belong. This process, prompted by Marcion's heresy, is called "canonization." Christians today can reaffirm the God-given truth of the canonical recognition church leaders made from that time forward in the early church--accepting the current sixty-six books as canonical and rejecting all apocryphal and pseudepigraphical works.

The God of the Old and New Testaments is One (Deut 6:4). He is just when He judges and merciful when He forgives.

God of the 3rd testament is coolest.
He was 'born again' in '85. Just waiting to for his chance to prove 'himself'... again.

Revelations of Jesus5:14 The Faithful and True Witness.
The Beginning of the 'Creation' of God.

Luke13:32 And He said unto them..."Go ye...and tell that fox.
Behold... I cast out devils and I do cures... today... tomorrow...
and the third day I shall be perfected."

Hebrews6:1 And being made perfect... He became the author of
Eternal Salvation unto all them that obey 'Him'

"Building the Perfect Beast" by Don Henely

"The Power of reason... the top of the heap.
We're the ones who kill the things... we don't eat.
Sharper than a serpants tongue... tighter than a bongo drum.
Quicker than a one night stand... slicker than a mambo band.
And now the day is come... soon 'He' will be released.
Glory Hallelujah...! We're building the Perfect Beast!
It's Olympus this time...POOlympus or bust.
For we have met the enemy... and he is us.
And now the day is come... soon 'he' will be released.
Glory Hallelujah!
Ever since we crawled out of the ocean...
and stood upright on land.
There are some things that we just don't understand.
Relieve all pain and suffering... and lift us out of the dark.
Turn us all into Methuselah.... but where are we gonna park?
The secrets of eternity... we've found the lock... and turned the key.
We're shakin' up those building blocks.
Going deeper into that box......(Pandora wouldn't like it....)
And now the day is come... soon 'he' will be released.
Glory Hallelujah...! We're building the Perfect Beast!
All the way to Malibu... from the Land of the Talking Drum.
Just look how far... look how far... we've come."

Judaism could not compete with the other religions of the time, partially due to God's bad temper. Judaism was designed with very few users in mind and would not have sold well considering that only the chosen people and their offspring could go to heaven.

So in order to get more adherents and to make the religion more acceptable, "God" had to go through this transformation.

It's all the same God. And don't get the New Testament wrong - God can still get pissed off. Love is stronger than anger.

Maybe it's like my Grandpa, when he was younger, he used to not be so mellow and would fight if he had to. Now he's INCREDIBLY mellow. Maybe as God got older he just mellowed out.

I still think it's funny the old testament Yahweh is like "Okay, Moses, killing people VERY BAD. You're going to be in LOTS of trouble if you do it... But Killing off these different people to get Israel? That's fine."

It always makes me giggle.

God in the old testament is the same God in the new testament.

The NT God IS the OT God, like it or not. There are no contradictions in the Bible - just try reading it instead of bashing it, and you'll see.

Lol

"There is an appointed time for everything." (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

"Fire and brimstone" has its appointed time, but He's always the same God.

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." (Hebrews 13:8)

It takes a lot of nerve to call God a "girly man".

Same God,
Always WAS, always IS, and always WILL BE!

It wasn't anger--You were told exactly HOW IT WAS, HOW IT IS, HOW IT'S GOING TO BE!

I just hope you're READY!
