I'd say you make a stand for what you believe. If it means leaving a friendship then it might be worth it. As a Christian, I believe in living a life of no compromise. I sin... a great deal, because I am human, but... I try to live without compromising what I believe. If it means offending or leaving another person, then sometimes we have to do that. If you really believe something... don't compromise it. That's the first step on a dangerous slippery slope downward.
Just know that when a person is gay that doesn't necessarily mean that they are doomed to be gay for the rest of their life. There is a way to return to what is natural.

Depends, if you don't want to be gay, but still keep your friend company in hell, there's lots of other stuff you can do. The only problem is that if you're not gay when you go to hell, you are forced to become gay there.

Keep in mind that if homosexuality is indeed a natural tendency, gays might not go to hell after all and you'll end up alone.

First of all, tell him you can't be turned gay, so he's wasting his time.

Second, set his mind at ease. Tell him that THERE IS NO HELL.

Christianity claims to be based on Judaism, and the fulfilment of it. But Hell was not an original part of Judaism. They originally believed that when one died, one went to Sheol (the Underworld), which is very similar to the Greek's Hades. BUT THIS IS NOT HELL!

During the Babylonian Exile, the Jews were able to learn about Persian culture, and it is from them that they got the concept of Hell. But to the Persians, Hell was not eternal, but a temporary purge for those who wouldnot do so voluntarily.

It is absolutely monstrous to claim that God would send ANYONE to Hell for all eternity. No one is infinitely evil, so infinite punishment does not fit the "crime".

His desire to "change" you means, (1) He may not actually be gay-rather unsure of what he is and (2) You are his friend and there is comfort with friends. He feels safe with you.

Never the less, you a have a right to your feelings and beliefs. If he is your friend then he will take what you say to heart and stop forcing his lifestyle on you. Period.

If not, then you need to tell him to get lost.

This happened to me once when I was living in a dorm. My best friend across the hall was unsure of her sexuality and "tried" things to see if she persuade me to swing both ways.

It ended badly and I havent' spoken to her in about 12 years.

Sometimes friendships are temporary. That's just the way it goes.

If your so called friend believes he is going to Hell for being gay then why would he want to drag you down with him? I do not call that much of a friend. I thought that friends were supposed to look out for each other not want to drag them to Hell with them. Maybe you need a new friend, someone who does not want you to fall with him. I could never imagine doing that to a friend. If that is not a solution tell him no means no and to go find someone else to go to hell with.

Do not follow in your friend's footsteps. If he wants to be gay, then he will have plenty of company in hell. Try getting him saved. He can be gay and saved, so long as he abstains from the gay lifestyle. Jesus loves homosexuals, but he hates homosexuality. It is the sin, that is the action that Jesus hates, and not the person.

It is wrong to be gay. Don't give in. The Bible say marrage is between a man and a woman. Tell him that Hell isn't a good place.

Shame on you for asking such a question. Under your value system, he'll be in hell with a lot of great people: better than those who think gays go to hell.

What you're actually saying here is that gays will go to Hell...that's the way I am reading your question. God (if there is one) doesn't care about sexual prefernce...God cares about you having lived your life loving, caring, and respecting others and the environment. Heaven (if there is one) is open to ALL rgardless of sexual prefernece. PEACE!
