I have a puppy and I try my hardest to keep him awake until I go to bed. Playing with him, wrestling around, let him use his teeth on you, only complain if it is too hard. Another thing that works well it to clicker train him, it can take some time up and he will be working. You could also feed him kibble by kibble for a while.

I am very interested in finding out why you want to keep him awake? Is he very old and you want to play with him?
