With all the warfare and fighting going on all over the world, especially in the Middle East, does it seem as though another major war will break out?

There is a good chance that there will be a war, but the term "World War" gets tossed around without people understanding that world wars involve open fighting on all continents - there were even skirmishes between German and Dutch troops in South American in WW2. The middle east would be a regional war, involving a handful of countries.

Sorry to say, but this is not going to spark the end of the world that people seem to be seeing under every bed and in each closet.

There is NO warfare and fighting all over the world; only in a few areas of the world. So no we are certainly not on the brink. Collate news from everywhere and come up with an informed view of the world.

Few have said it yet. Somebody needs to. We are on the verge of WWIII.

The signs are here. Armies massing in a tinderbox around the oil fields of the Mideast. Armies massing on the India-Pakistan border, massing on the 38th Parallel, another flash point in the world.

Amidst a war of words that has ended in war before, the two sides are sending each other’s diplomats home. North Korea is busily turning its nuclear facilities to the sincere task of creating enriched uranium for nuclear missiles & urgently trying to test long range missiles. America has seen the rise to power of a dangerously misdirected mind, amidst an election sham.

And war. Every tyrannical and totalitarian regime needs war. They will say they don’t want world war, but world war consolidates and perpetuates their grip on power.
World war breaks out easily from a major confrontation as that in Iraq. As the major war transfixes the world, myriad minor ones break out, as nations use the cover of the big events in Iraq/Lebanon/Iran and India and Korea to settle scores elsewhere. China will wait until the USA is war-weary, and will then strike Tawiwan/Formosa to ‘reunite’ them to mainland China.

Nukes will be used in WWIII. There are too many of these terrible weapons stockpiled around the world to be secure. Some fool will unleash them, and once he does, all bets are off. Retaliations and counter-retaliations will wreck large sections of the biosphere.

Yes,

9 / 11 = Reichstag not Pearl Harbor

World War III has begun, but contrary to outward appearance, it is not a war between East and West, not Judeo-Christian vs. Islam, or even Capitalist vs. Communist.
We don’t know it yet, but WWIII is the final step in the long-term plan of the Haves to enslave the Havenots. And believe me now, we are all have-nots and there is little we can do about it.
“Leaders” form all races and religions promote hatred, anti museum, anti semantic, anti other.
The haves promote this hate of others so that the Havenots (US) don’t realize that they (Haves) are the true enemy.
The ultimate goal of the rich is to set up a master / slave society. This will be accomplished by creating a perpetual state of war.

sure. you should actually have stated the undeniable reality that Bush's alliance with Russia is failing (as a former KGB agent tightens his grip on the rustic and refuses to sentence Hizbollah), and Venezuela (a huge oil producer) has joined forces with the Colombian, Brazilian, and Bolivian leftist leaders. no longer to tutor that China is cracking down on Taiwan (whom we've promised to guard), and Iraq's issues are starting to be a lot worse contained in the previous couple of weeks. As when you blame the "liberals and democrats" or "Bush and the conservatives", maximum of those issues were construction for years, if no longer many years, and are by using a mixture of detrimental rules that got here from each and each and every aspect of the aisle, besides as issues that are between those different international places and performance no longer some thing to do with us (except which aspect we previously claimed as our allies, or which aspect we siold guns to).

I know it's not easy, but try to ignore the propaganda.

Dubya's policies are not new :-

“Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”
Hermann Göring 1946 Nuremberg Trials(Nazi)

Ask yourself what Newt Gingrich is trying to achieve.

2 days ago, I wouldn't have said it was very likely but now with everything I see on the news, I'm starting to wonder. I wouldn't be at all surprised. Israel fights back. So yes, I think anohter world war very well could break out.

I think that depends on Syria and Iran.

If they keep their noses out of this conflict, then it will probably not escalate. However the Israelis have already destroyed caravans hauling munitions from Syria to Lebanon.
