Well my son is 16 and he feels the same way. I figure because when that from the time that they were born until the time before they reached puberty they listened to their parents and adored them totally. Then they finally started seeing that their parents were not perfect and as they say "don't know anything'. By the way are you still doing the bail bondsmen thing. I am still looking for a bail bondsmen.

It depends upon what you mean by "worldly wise". If you mean do they know more about the latest gadgets available to listen to music or stuff like that or they are more knowledgeable about the latest trends and things like that then in most cases teenagers are more "worldly wise" than their parents.

If you mean wise about how to deal with life situations that they will face in this world then parents are usually wiser because even though technology changes, people pretty much remain the same and parents have a greater reservoir of life experience to draw upon to make decisions about life choices and interactions.

Coming from England amid a chav epidemic, the majority of teenagers aren't at all worldly or wise; they're disruptive, mouthy, ignorant and seethe with unrestrained violence . Oh, and the boys get their 13 year old girlfriends pregnant, so they're not renowned for their sense of responsibility.

i think the age and the hormones make the teenagers think they r far more wiser than their parents...the parents will have more experience with life than the teenagers..the young blood will make them think that they r right in everrything they do..even i used to think like that when i was a teenager..later i came to know that my parents were right in those occasions...

However there will be a generation gap also between the parents and children...this is also one of the reasons the children think that the parents do not know anything......But what all has to observe is that basically the concept of life doesnt change even with the generation change..Therefore to avoid any problems a proper correlation is needed between both to understand whats going on .....

i think it's an individual thing. some teenagers are wise beyond their years and pay attention to the world around them. true, adults do have the experience that teenagers do not, but some adults would rather get caught up in their jobs and personal lives rather than pay attention to the world. so in general, some people are more wordly wise than others, it's not a teenager vs. adult debate, but an indvidual vs. another individual.

Current news and trends may be their forte, but if it comes down to history and predictability of event processes-no. Most older folks can see where things are going on a lot of subjects and events. Especially when it's about human nature and dealing with others.

I was certainly more street-wise than my parents and probably still am because times are different. Things will be totally different again in another 20 years and I'm sure what our children get up to will shock us.

i do no longer think of there is that this style of component as clever, there is only own experiacne. each and every determination is per own experiance and not good judgment or reason. And as for peace, till the international learns to settle for the onther human beings and different cultures think of there only isn't peace, as long as there is distinction there will be hate and with hate comes violence. it somewhat is the way all and sundry is stated. some human beings blame it on human nature, all human nature is, is what we practice one yet another.

No. Children now days do things more openly, then when us parents were growing up. I for one talk to my children about some of the dumb things that i did as a teenager, if for nothing else to show them what the reactions were to my actions, and hope that they can learn by my mistakes. I believe a lot of us parents now, with teenagers, talk more openly and honestly with our children then our parents did with us.

They may think they are on top of things because they watch MTV, but parents aren't as clueless as many think. Plus, adults know more about the real world.
