diet soda is not a solution.
you'd rather drink water if you really want to lose weight.
be careful, some people are allergic to the aspartam they put in diet soda....
to loose pounds, still eat 3 meals a day with no snacks, that's a good start, but try to eat some vegetables, to get rid of meals with a lot of sauce
and no soda at all

None, unless you were drinking sodas in such an amount that you were getting over half of your daily caloric intake, then you might be getting close to what is considered a normal caloric intake. If you just replace one aspect of your diet, you're not doing anything. It's not changing your sedentary life style, it's not changing your habits of eating food that's bad for you. Sodas still aren't good for your body, regardless of whether they have corn syrup or saccharine in them, because consuming large quantities of something high in phosphorus is still bad for your kidneys, as one example.
And, eating 3 meals a day isn't good for your body, either. 5-6 small meals with a couple of ounces of protein, a vegetable, a fruit, some type of whole grain and a dairy is better for your body to maintain peak metabolism. You're not setting yourself up for failure by saying "NO SNACKS" to yourself, and you are still allowing yourself to eat mostly normally. America's idea that you need to eat 3 big meals a day is wrong, wrong, wrong.

I use to drink regular sodas and gained so much weight from all the sugar in them. now I drink diet and I am not on a diet, i just don't stick with diets so I don't even try anymore. I did loose weight changing to diet drinks but it was because I wasn't sucking down all that sugar any more. I don't think diet drinks make you loose weight they just help cut back and now I can't stand a regular drink , it taste like sugar. Good Luck!

I don't know for sure about Diet soda...but a good friend of mine quit soda altogether and lost around 30 pounds, without altering his normal diet. How has it been going so far for you?

Weight loss/gain = number of calories burned minus number of calories ingested.
If everything else is equal, the number of calories you do not ingest by substituting diet soda for non-diet soda will either reduce your weight or cause you to not gain as much as you would have. It all depends on how much you burn.

nothing, cut out soda completely and replace it with water. The soda has lots of artificial sugars that can be more dangerous to your health than regular sugar.
