Putting lemon juice in your hair is perfectly fine, it helps if your out laying by the pool, it lets the sun take natural highlight action on your hair. It comes out when you shampoo, ive done it a hundred times, its never caused any damage, and you can do it any age.

It is a completely natural way to highlight your hair that has no age limit. However, any results you achieve are permanent. Once your hair is "bleached" by the lemon juice, there is no undoing it unless you dye it back to its original color. You can wash out the lemon juice by shampooing your hair, which may be a bit dry so use some conditioner. Be warned, lemon juice accidentally in the eyes hurts very much, be careful of that with your little sis.

ok why are you putting it in your hair anyway and I think about 6 or 7 is the youngest age to put lemon juice in your hair. if you want to get the lemon juice out of your hair I think washing it a few time will be the best thing to do.
good luck

lemon juice is good for natural removal of dandruff and is ok to use on anyone aged 1 year and above. but if you are looking for a natural hair lightener that would stay on and you can wash the ingredients off i have read once that this recipe works so give it a try.
2 cups of water, 2 cups of Chamomile, 1tbl spoon of parsley, 1tbl spoon of lemon juice. boil all of the ingredients together, strain the liquid in a different bowl. apply to damp hair for about half an hour. then rinse 2/3 times.(no soap or shampoo or you will wash the effect away.

It dries out your hair blv me especially if you dont have oil hair.dry/normal hair gets drier and of course you dont want your hair to get yuck.If i were you i d visit the salon and do some lights and then remember its summer treat it well.Avoid direct sun, treat in once a week with a home treatment (Try Dove for Coloured Hair(intensive mask) and dont put any lemon juice. It really damages your scalp, as a beauty consultant I was trained on various sectors and i know what I am saying. You'll spend more money getting it back healthy (plus you might have to cut it) if you put lemon juice than if you put some lowlights/highlights!

the lemon juice will actually lighten your hair, so it won't be a matter of just washing it out if you don't like it. But it is supposed to be subtle, which means it shouldn't change it too much.
I think it'd be ok even for little kids, just don't get it in her eyes, and if she says it's stinging or burning, just have her rinse and shampoo.
since the changes made would be permanent, you might wanna be sure it's ok with her mom before you do your little sis's hair.

Why is lemon juice successful in highlighting hair if the
subject stays out in the sunlight once the lemon juice has been applied
to the hair? What is the chemistry taking place during this process?
Acid plus oxygen plus UV = bleaching.
It happens in the sun and air naturally, but slowly.
The acid in lemon juice helps it happen faster.
Well once its done its done, I wouldnt do it, ask proffesional help
The chemistry is called acid-catalyzed oxidation.
It happens to a lot of carbon-based substances, hair included.

the lemon juice is acidy and when you put it in your hair and go out in the sun, or add heat it will chemically lighten your hair.
See, the summer sun (because you're in it so much) naturally lightens your hair. Ever notice that when you tan the hairs on your arms turn white, but in winter theyre the color of your skin? Adding lemon juice just speeds up that process.
Its not a drastic change, and usually you have to do it a few times to even notice it.
Once you have put it in and let it change the color of your hair you have to wait for your body to naturally get rid of it.
Its not a "chemical" color in the sense that it strips your hair and adds a chemical color (pigment) in the place of the hairs natural melanin, so its not like you can restrip the chemical color back out with something.
Trust me, you can try it once, but you'll hardly notice anything. Put the juice in a spray bottle and stray a little on your head, brush it in and go about your day. Or, you can douse your hair in it (stick your head over the tub and dump a bottle of juice over it and brush it in) but you'd have to sit in the sun all stink'n day for it to reeeeeeally do much of anything.
Its a pretty safe way to mess with your hair color, its pretty hard to ruin.

It's lemon juice.... not battery acid.
It doesn't do anything to your hair. maybe it will smell like lemons for a minute.
you get it out of your hair by standing under the shower with the water running.....You might want to think about getting a problem to worry about... This isn't it.
