So, I am personally sick and tired of everyone in my family trying to tell me how to live. I work 12.5 days and put myself through school and I live a pretty good life. What bothers me is when people are so judgemental all the time. Can anyone tell me why people are like this or at least let me know that there are others who are in the same boat.

Let me clarify: I am not doing anything that I would make people need to worry or tell me for my own good. The situation is as follows: I recieved my teaching degree and have been unable to find a teaching job so I am working in the field of education and using my degree just not teaching in a classroom and my family keeps asking me when I am going to get a real job. If have a real job and I work my butt off to pay my bills and help my family financially.

People in your family do this because they love you, and hope by telling you, they can save you the heart ache of finding out the hard way. So don't be too hard on them.

Tell them that you appreciate their opinion and you will consider their advice, then do as you wish. Sometimes people just want to know that you heard them, that you listened.

I assure you that for the most part, if you do as you wish, and perhaps the advice that was given was accurate, and you make a small uncomfortable decision on your own that impacts your life negatively, your family will support you because you respected them enough to listen.

That is just life!

Everyone must make mistakes to learn, otherwise, how would you gauge happiness if you have no sorrow.

a faith is a device of beliefs and the attendant rituals. It has no expertise, and there for no will or means to choose or impose something. Adherents to a faith keep on with it is tenants because it is what Adherents do, and it is their selection, made freely and of their own will, no longer something that would properly be imposed. someone forced to conform at gunpoint isn't an adherent, yet a slave. you would possibly want to particularly ask are there human beings of any faith who do no longer attempt to impose their beliefs on others, and the answer is certain, in all religions. human being human beings make human being options, and justify them as they are going to, faith is, for most, only a device for reaching a private time table, yet in such circumstances it is the guy who's at fault, no longer the religion.

i can understand your feeling. are you feeling like everything that you do is wrong. everybody want to give a piece of their minds.
i also have been in that situation years ago..
my solution are listen, and take what youo think good for you.
if you disagree with them, do not voice your disagree.
just make a stupid face when their advises you.
sooner or later, they will give up on you..
i hope this may help you.
gudluck.

If you're independent, and making your own life's decisions...
dont let it bother you what anyone thinks or says in a negative fashion. And if you simply cant help yourself, simply let 'whoever' know that when THEY pay YOUR way, they may then tell you what you should be doing with YOUR life.
.......And not before. :)

They are just plain nosey, They try so hard to keep up with what you are doing, that they have no life of their own. Do like I did, tell them that this is your life and you live it the way that you please. Don't other people ruin what makes you happy. Just tell them to go away.

as a concerned friend or relative, wouldn't you have to speak your peace if a loved one was behaving in a way counter to your own version of common sense? of course you would. but there is also tact, and courtesy of stating your concern, and having said it, not bringing it up again.
that way, when it all collapses, you have the sweet, sweet thrill of saying, "I told you so!"

i have the same problem. people usually want what's "best" for you, and I'm sure you've heard that more than your share of times from your parents, but they don't realize you are happy. i hate Christians....wait, technically I'm catholic, but still.o.k., i hate church people who try and drown you in your shame for "killing" god and making the world evil. they should preoccupy themselves with something else...go pray and leave me alone!

These people have no appreciation for lifestyles unlike their own because they consider it abnormal or against their virtues.
