I just started dating this girl 3 weeks ago and I like her alot. There is potential for a long term thing to happen. Her bday is approaching in 2 weeks. Any advice as to what I should do/give for her bday?

PS. I am twenty and though I have a summer job, money is somewhat of an issue.

You just started dating and nothing at this point is expected. It's a nice gesture for you to recognize her birthday but any rational, mature woman wouldn't expect much from a young man she just started seeing. There are plenty of things you can do that are inexpensive. A nice card and flowers will do. Or take her to the park, buy her an ice cream and pick flowers throughout the park making her a bouquet out of them. Or pick one or two and put them in her hair. If she likes you, those small gestures will make her feel so special. Doing nice things isn't always about spending big bucks. And if she doesn't appreciate any of that, well perhaps it's best you see that now.

Good luck.

Jewelry is always a plus! If she likes sterling silver, you can get something nice for like $20. Don't get a ring - sizing is hard and there is too much baggage attached. Go for a neclace (a nice intricate chain is always nice, or go for something simple with her birthstone). Bracelets are nice too, but not everyone wears them.

Another thing you can do is plan a special outing. This is more difficult on a limited budget and depends on your/her interests. This shows that you really like to spend time with her. This could be a special trip to the drive-in (if there isn't one right in your town - otherwise it wouldn't be special), horseback riding, amusement park, museum - depends on what she's into (what SHE is into is the key here).

Good luck! She's lucky to have found someone who is so thoughtful!

You can never go wrong with flowers. What is this girl into? Does she like to watch movies, listens to music a lot. Scented candles are always a no lose gift. Anything will do, except a coupon of crazy sex with you ( a little too early ini your stage). Take her out to dinner and a movie with flowers. YOur golden

I think the gift is to be the first person to wish her in the middle night .00.00 with number of red rosses of her B`day years !(18,19 etc.) and the bottle of sparkling wine.and decorate the place with lot of candles and rose patels. Cook her favourite food and spend the day with her make the day free for her. Show her that you love her alot and she means alot to you. all the best buddy.

Have a picture (snapshot) taken of the both of you and put in on the cover of one of those really nice photo albums, wrap it up and give it to her, so if it does become serious with the two of you then you can have a remembrance of your time together....Good luck to you!

:) something sweet. Like a small cake, some cookies or something. i have genuinely continuously needed to make fancy jello for someone. Like, layering different colorings of jello, then including fruit or suitable for eating flora, and putting it in a lovable mildew. in case you are able to, beautify it to look lovable. OH OH I FORGOT something significant. examine which include her acquaintances or something to work out if she has any food hypersensitive reactions.

A night out...its summer...take her to the beach at night...(if you live by one) it is the most beautiful thing to see the stars and the water hitting the shore...just sit and talk...and maybe a card and dinner...

Get her a card and take her out on a date and treat her. It's the thought that counts really.

Buy her a CD or movie... then make her dinner and buy her flowers. It will be sweet and cheap. You can do all that under 50 bucks.
