I found myself asking the same question as I am presently immigrating to Canada. I am from a small area in the States, though, where the job market is not very promising. My husband and his family have come from India recently, and they all are more than happy to be here. I guess it just depends on what your personal goals are and where you feel most comfortable.

Below I have pasted the Canadian Immigration site you will need to help you through the immigration process as well as some links for the job market in Canada. Hope these sites are of some assistance. Go with your gut feeling and I wish you all the best!

Although there are certainly more jobs in India right now than Canada, even if you are pumping gas in Canada, you will enjoy a better living standard than if you are an office worker in India. You must decide if clean air, better health etc are worth living away from your family and friends. Plus no matter how educated you are you will have to struggle a little initially. Typically it takes anywhere from 6 months to 3 years for new immigrants to establish themselves in Canada. But here's the upside - you can give it a try for 3 years and even acquire Canadian citizenship and then if you decide you want to try living in India you can go back. If you don't like it there, you can return to Canada (and keep going back and forth until you've had enough). And yes, I forgot to mention. Once you become a Canadian citizen, you could even move to the US if you like (although I don't recommend it).
