Sniper School is about 1 year long, but i doubt that you will find an area that just teaches you how to use a sniper. Most will give courses about everything, such as how to use a wide variety of weapons, such as the M16, M95, and the M4. That takes about 2 years, and others even teach how to use vechicles such as the Apache and Blackhawk. Those take about 5 years to complete, with the right training.

I can't answer on formal sniper training, but bank on this: The best snipers begin as youngsters, like Marine sniper Carlos Hathcock, who made 93 confirmed kills in Korea and Viet Nam, and probably killed 350 enemy in total. No "collateral damage" to civilians and all targets were important, including enemy officers and enemy snipers, at up to 800 yards with .30 calibre and up to 2000 yards with scoped .50 calibre. He started on squirrels with a .22 in Tennessee and didn't eat if he didn't hit. he was good before he started formal sniper training. Read his biography.
