My baby was 15 weeks early, weighing 2lbs and 1oz. He is progressing so well. I have looked into this and yes there are a lot of negativity surrounding premature babies but there has been a lot of technical advancements. If you think about it, the 'facts' that we have today are based on children born between 10-30 years ago!! Just think of the technical differences between now and then, not just in the medical sense either. I mean 10 ears ago hardly anyone was on the internet or had mobiles. Things have changed. I think that if the child has everything it needs and is nurtured properly then that child will be fine. Fact is full term babies are still able to have learning difficulties or be short in height. 32weeks isnt premature. Anything more than 10 weeks early is premature.

I wouldn't worry , I have a grown son and he was born at 30 weeks and is now 28 and in perfect health so it isn't a given that they will be more susceptible to problems than a full term baby once they reach the stage they weigh enough to leave the hospital. Also the child will suffer no psychological effects from this . Any child can be susceptible to problems but unless they should begin having a particular problem or the child's doctor tells you otherwise then don't worry the kids fine.

There should have been contact and if there wasn't shame on the hospital that that baby was in!!!
Prematurity has it's own symtoms and at 32 weeks your daughter may not have been a premie except in weight. A premie has under developed lungs is prone to brain bleeds and problems can arise from this.
She could be blind from being under those lights for weeks or months, deaf, learning disabilities such as ADD or ADHA, autism, motor dysfunction, co-ordination or there could be brain damage.

no longer unavoidably. My nephew, Gary, became born premature and became no longer anticipated to stay. he's now 40-8 and so some distance as i comprehend memories no health issues.Nor did his mom. If the youngster whom you've said became a first infant, properly I comprehend that the first infant often times (yet no longer continuously) is premature. My Uncle Jack became born upfront and lived into his 1970s. His mom ,my grandmother became a tiny lady who weighed six stone at her healthiest and suffered no health issues hence.i imagine that she became about eighty at the same time as she died. My brother, Neville, became born upfront.Mum died very last year on the age of ninety-one and until eventually she were given to be previous and suffered from the similar old previous age ailments, had no issues. genuinely no longer something that became the outcome of Neville having been premature. You hardly ever listen of individuals having different prem little ones. once your sister feels satisfied about it (and not in any respect until eventually- each baby might want to be a needed baby) she might want to bypass for it.

Your baby was born early, but not that early. She'll be fine. Just give her lots of love now to 'compensate' for the time she was in incubator. Had she been born at 26/ 27 weeks than perhaps there could be probs later in life, but your baby will be ok. Just think of all the twins/ triplets that are born at 32 weeks gestation, and they are fine now. Try watching Discovery channel (Home & Health), or go on their website, it will put your mind at ease.

My 6-year-old niece was premature. The only problem she has that her doctors say is "typical" of preemies is a slight developmental delay. She's developmentally where a normal 5-year-old would be so it's nothing drastic, but she may have to repeat kindergarten because of it. I don't know that it has anything to do with the lack of physical contact when she was a newborn because my sister-in-law was at the hospital every day, and I know NICU nurses give as much physical contact as they are safely able to give. Talk to your doctor about your concerns. There may be specialized therapy available to help you and your daughter. Good luck!

I don't think 32 weeks is too bad, I think premature babies only have problems if they are born at 28 weeks or before thats when there is a danger of health problems

My son is 21months old.. he was born four weeks early.. he had rds, and was on a resperator for two weeks.. he has severe asthma now.. but if the baby was born preterm and came into the world just small and sooner than expected there shouldn't be any problems.. Just make sure you give that one a lot of love and attention so they can bond with you extra because of the laps in one on one that she didn't get at first..

we were told that when our child was born prematurely at 32 weeks weighing just 3lbs and incubated for 4 weeks or more that he would have all sorts of problems in later life .but he did not have any and he is now 22yrs old a qualified Chef drives a car loves being amongst people and hates not having anyone to talk to .if you become involved in their social skills when they are growing up and talk to them it always helps .he,s 5ft 10ins does body building swims etc

my cousins twins were born at 33 weeks and they were tiny about 3lb each incubator for several months they are now 10 and they are fine doing well and school and everything they are a bit on the short side but apart from that they are normal 10 year olds, maybe you should speak to your doctor or health nurse if you are worried
