Cats have a very good sense of direction. I've heard stories of cats returning home after travelling miles. So don't lose hope. But you have to understand there are a lot of dangers in the world for a lost cat.

Yes. If it is a male cat and not neutered then he could be out fooling around. Some cats never come home because they were hit by a car. I am not saying this to be cruel, but if they are gone more than 2 weeks, I would not get my hopes up that they are coming home. Hope your cat makes it home. My dad ended up having to feed kittens by bottle because my sister's cat was hit down the road

Cat's have an uncanny sence of where they live.
They can usualy find a way back home as long as its not too far away, and they know they are loved at home..
Mine dissapeared for like 2 weeks then she came back..
it turns out she was "visiting" with the neighbours about 6 blocks away..

yes, i once had a cat that liked to be at my neighbors house, well, when we decided to move, we took our cat with us and when we got just around 15 miles away that cat jumped out out of the car and started running. we were worried for about three days untill our neighbor called and say the cat showed up back at their house. so i'm sure you cat can find its way home. cats have a good sense of direction.

Cats are absolutely amazing at finding their way home and I dont think a storm will interfere with their senses... It will frighten them at the time and leave them disorientated but when they recover from the shock hey presto!

have you lost your cat? How long ago? Mine disappeared for three weeks and came home hungry but purring X

Most likely...when we moved about 7 miles away from where we used to live, we let my cat out and it found its way back to my old house in less that 3 hours.

yes, cats tend to form a strong attachment to places. i once heard of a cat that traveled with its family to another state on vacation. while there, the cat went missing. when the family got home 2 weeks later, the cat was waiting for them.
