When she is in heat she will love any Male dog that will blow her dress up for a few minutes. Just let nature take it's course and don't watch they don't like that..

Hun it sounds like you have a doggie that is not well socialized and therefore barks furiously at other dogs. Dogs do not know that sex leads to puppies, it's hormones that drive them. The drive is so strong all animals want to have babies.... during heat. It's what comes after the heat is over and she's pregnant. She could have complications. Don't forget to deworm her.. and her puppies after they are a few weeks old. Then there is delivery. If all goes well you won't need a vet but responsible pet owners contact their vet and have their pet looked at during pregnance, delivery and followups. Then there is the expense of shots, neutering of the mom and of course then you are stuck feeding them, cleaning up their poop and pee from all over the house, then finding them a home. It's a big responsibility. Just have her spay'd and get over it. Go admire the puppies of some responsible breeder if you feel the need to be holding a puppie for a few minutes. Don't breed your doggie just cause you "think" she wants to have puppies. You'd just be contributing to the horror of abused animals.. (the puppies given to homes where they are neglected and abused). Leave the breeding to the breeders and spay your dog and enjoy her. Spend some time socializing her. Take her to obedience classes where she will learn that other dogs are not her enemies and are in fact potential playmates. She'll also learn that you are the boss... :>

Your dog doesn't "want to have pups"! That's anthropomorphism - you're putting human thoughts on dog behavior. A female dog doesn't need to be bred to satisfy her emotional needs - or yours. There is an awful lot that goes into breeding dogs right - are you sure you're ready? Labs are usually easy whelpers, but do you know how to tell if the pups need to be delivered by an expensive emergency c-section? Do you know how to build a proper whelping box with a pig-rail, so that none of the pups can be crushed behind or under their mom? Do you know what eclampsia is? If you don't, your dog could die. Do you know how to tell when all the pups have been born? If there are any left inside her, they could die and so could she. Do you know where the nearest emergency clinic is? Dogs often deliver in the middle of the night. If there are any problems with the whelping, it may cost you $100 just to walk in the clinic's door - then all the other costs on top of that.
Before you breed, you have to have your vet do a health exam and fecal tests and blood tests for intestinal worms and heartworm to be sure her health is good. Then make sure your dog and the male you select (who should be a champion - your pups will be worth more!) are tested for Brucellosis - a canine VD.
If you breed her to a top quality male from an experienced breeder, they can help you with advice and may even show up to help you deliver the pups - but usually you're on your own. They can also advise you as to whether or not your female is good enough to breed and that she has no major faults that she could pass on. Expect to pay at least the sale price of one pup for your stud fee.
If you just want a pup to keep for yourself, it's a lot easier (and cheaper) to buy one than to breed your own. The pups are going to need food and shots and worming and lots of care for eight weeks. If the mother rejects them, guess who is going to be up twice a night and four times a day hand feeding every pup? Have you got the time and energy? You won't make much money breeding dogs if you're doing it right! One of my breeder friends once calculated that she made less than $1.85 per hour after expenses in a litter with no problems. I bred one litter myself (from champion dogs!), but now I'd rather go and buy the pup I want.

If you're still reading, go to www.akc.org and look up breeders. The best breeders will show their dogs in breed, obedience and/or field work - and they will be members of a dog club that promotes breeding health, good-tempered dogs.

How do you know she wants to have pups? Dogs just respond to hormones when they go into heat. It will not effect you dog one way or another if she has pups or not. If she does, she will most likely be a good mother. Dogs will naturally take care of their offspring and keep the healthy ones alive because the strong ones get to her first for feeding. This ensures that only healthy animals live to carry on healthy genes.

Just because she goes into heat doesn't mean she wants to have pups. All females dogs go into heat, unless they have been fixed.
If she isn't a purebred then you should get her fixed and not breed her. We don''t need any more mutts in the animal shelter because the owners got careless and let there dogs have pups just because they thought the dog wanted pups.

Do you know how many dogs and cats are put to death every day because people don't get their animals spayed or neutered? She don't want to have pups, that is a stupid statement, I guess you want to have a litter of babies that no one would will care for too. Spay her!

How do you know she wants to have pups? Did she tell you? Do the dog a favor and have her spayed.

If she was in heat and ready she would let a male dog have her. They will sometimes growl at the male dog or try to bite them. Sounds like you are the one wanting puppies.

Even moreso than my usual reply to people who want to breed their dogs, let me be EXTREMELY EMPHATIC:

YOUR DOG HAS SERIOUS AGGRESION ISSUES!!! DO NOT BREED HER!!! THERE IS A GOOD LIKELIHOOD HER PUPS WILL ALSO HAVE AGGRESSION PROBLEMS!!! DOES THE WORLD REALLY NEED MORE AGGRESSIVE DOGS?!?!

Honestly. Your dog does not want puppies. She wants to pass on her genetic information. It is an instinct. If you spay her, she'll loose that instinct and won't be able to PASS ON HER FLAWED GENES TO ANOTHER GENERATION OF AGGRESSIVE ILL-BRED DOGS!!!!

She wants to have pups?? I think you mean YOU want her to have pups. Unless of course she has been seeing a therapist :)

Get her spayed, she will be healthier and happier.
