God supposedly punished the serpent by taking away it's legs in the Genesis creation story. So, why then do we still have lizards, which are essentially snakes with legs? .

Momof1 - Yes, and that would prove that snakes evolved wouldn't it?

i can definately see your point..but there is no use trying to reason with people who are brainwashed. havent you noticed that when you ask questions like this if people dont know what to say..they change the subject..or get defensive? = LUDD 's comment?

Lizards without legs aren't like a snake. Their bodies are completely different. Just because two things are both reptiles doesn't make them the same. That would be like saying that a chimpanzee and (the fictionsl) King Kong are the same animal just because they are both primates.

If evolution happened, then the Adam and Eve story did not.

Lizards are not 'snakes with legs' anyway.

A blue tailed skink is closer to a snake with legs . Most lizards do not have a forked tongue as a snake does .

I don't remember the whole leg-taking verse you speak of, it just said that he was made to crawl on the ground. Which would be a snake.

Lizards are different though. I'm not a biologist or anything, but there are differences in what they eat etc. so they really aren't snakes.

Snakes used to have legs. If you turn over a snake, preferably when that is dead so you don't get bit, you will see that it did have legs. Also, scientists have proved that at one time snakes did walk and not slither.

If you're still using Genesis as a blueprint for evolution you're bound to end up a fundamentalist girdled with TNT.

Do some serious reading on Darwing and Lamark and come back... say a couple of years later.

The bible is just a fable, intended to not be taken literally, but as an exercise in allegory.

Don't take anything in it literally.
