I think that a man must exercise self-control and show respect to women who are good and deserving; not to the body, but to the soul. Therefore the clothing a woman wears should matter to a good man.

Christianity has no specific rules about what women (or men) should or should not wear. However it does say we women should be modest.
As far as I know the Qoran also has no specific rules about what women should or should not wear. Culture has included as "Muslim Rules" that women should wear the burka.
Western society dictates a minimum amount of clothing to be worn in public. This has significantly reduced in the past couple of generations. Our grandmothers or great grandmothers would not have even considered wearing a bikini or a halter top. And the "rules" in non-western countries are very different to western countries. for example a friend of mine went to Africa and while she was there could wear anything or nothing from the waist up so long as she wore a long skirt that hid her legs and ankles.
I believe that a burka is far to extreme, and that women do not need to wear that much. But I also think Western society's standard is too low, and that women (whether they are Christian or not) should have to wear more than many do.
When I go out in public, I always wear at least a mid length skirt or pants (no bum huggers) and a singlet top. At home I often go topless, but never in front of anyone other than family or close friends. I think many bikinis are too brief (which is part of the reason I swim topless - 2 little triangles are more annoying than comfy).
But rape has nothing to do with what women wear. It has to do with society's attitude that sex is a commodity not an expression of love between husband and wife, and with control or power. Men who rape are wrong. And society is wrong in its attitudes toward sex.

first of all, there is no written thing in Muslim's holy book that - you have to wear cloths that are lose and hide your body. It is what some Muslims choose to believe. Secular historians place Islam's beginnings during the late 7th century in Arabia. In that times, women used to be regarded as sex objects and they used to walk around almost naked. The prophet Mohammed told them to cover their bodies with clothes like what many people wear today. As I said before, there is no written statement or command in Quran that woman have to wear those black clothes and hide their bodies or hairs. What you must wear is not a matter of religion, it is a matter of morality and culture.

Islam has many prophets out of whom the last prophet is Mohammad(saws)Before him it was Eesa(Jesus). He also came to forward islam but because he could not stay all the time and was lifted up by Allah a new religion christianity came into being. it was liberal too and pope changes the rules every new year. due to this chiristianity became much liberal and islam remained the same . this is the difference and u obviously can see the safety in saudi than in UKor USA

I think the biggest difference is that Christians believe in the Trinity ( father, son, holyspirit) and followers of Islam do not , both believe in God . If christains really follow the Bible teachings then there dress should be modest .If people were raped only because of the way they dressed, then old women and children would never get raped, rape is more about control not just sex .

I dont think that has anything to do with rape. Rape happens in every country and religion. We just have formal ways to track it but I can bet you it happens everywhere. Woman should not have to be constricted to what they wear for anyone no matter what...to do that is to take the blame from the rapist to the woman for what she wears. it is all his fault 100 percent.

The main difference is that Christianity tends to fuel in us the urge to ask questions whearas in Islam you stop being a questioner.
