Erudite, I apologize for not being able to completely answer your question at this time. It would take a monumental effort on my part to conduct the research, develop a succinct answer, and provide sources to show the lack of validity in your statement.
Short of a fully prepared answer, I would say that our enemies today are not the same as those that we were fighting three years ago. There are schools, hospitals, electricity, and many other basic needs available to more people than ever before in Iraq. The media, who seem to feed your delusions, are not required to tell the entire story of what is going on in Iraq. They print/report only those things that are dramatic and sensational. You obviously like that aspect of the media. As for the soldiers eating crow, I don't really know how to respond to that statement. The Marines and Soldiers (not Army men) can not be expected to eat crow for the decisions of people in politics. They were sent to complete various missions and overwhelmingly they have achieved those. If you would like to assign the metaphor to the leaders who sent them there, then that is obviously your right. However, I would hope that you could live up to your name and research your facts before you post them.

Three reasons:
1. Some Middle East countries are supporting them with arms and a safe haven.
2. They believe that they are fighting a war of 'Liberation'. Saddam's atrocities seem to be forgotten, although most of them are from the same Islamic group as Saddam. (Shiite)
3. They are not fighting by the 'rules'. Targeting civilians, etc. This is a 'war' that has to be won.
While I DO NOT support Israel's actions in Lebanon, I fully support the 'war' in Iraq. Our 'real' enemies are the regimes in Syria and Iran. Not the people, but the leaders there.

Its because Iraq is like another vietnam war and Bush and Rumsfeld went AWOL during the vietnam war so they didnt learn anything from that war, and they just repeated the same mistakes.

It's the liberals fault. They expect our troops to behave like gentlemen. The insurgents aren't bound by the same rules.

They are only 'good' in your imagination.
I bet you cannot even tell us what their success rate for IED attacks is.
Such basic information - and you have no clue.

I hate to mention this, but you sound like a disgruntled person. If you are disgruntled about something, what are you disgruntled about.
