100 is considered average, 115 is considered above average, 130 is genius. 85 is considered below average and 70 is where you start to suspect mental retardation. However, I.Q. and intelligence are not the same thing. An I.Q. test only measures how well you did on that particular standardized test, and is not a true measure of intelligence. I recommend reading Howard Gardener's work on multiple intelligences. Just type jis name into any search engine and you will find all kinds of materials.

The correct answer is 100, because the highest you can have is 200 and the lowest is 0. The main population therefore falls in the middle at 100.
