If you have no credit history and you want a credit card, you can go to any bank and apply for a SECURED credit card. This is one where you put up a certain amount of money as collateral, which will also be your credit limit. The bank will return your collateral after your credit is established, and then they will issue you a regular credit card with a low credit limit, like $1500.
