I have several as I collect cookbooks and the one that sounds like yours is :
2 small pkgs frozen broccoli; 2 cups cooked minute rice; 1 stick butter {not margarine}; 1 large onion, diced; 1 can cream of mushroom soup; 1 4oz jar of cheez whiz
Saute onion in butter then mix all ingredients together bake at 350 for 45 minutes in a greased baking dish.
[ this is from "25 years of the Farm Bureau Cookbook]
If this doesn't sound right let me know I have plenty more.

I've been eating it since I was a kid
10 oz pkg frozen chopped broccoli
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of celery soup (optional but I like a creamier casserole. You could also add a second can of mushroom soup. If you like a drier casserole use only 1 can of mushroom soup).
1 large onion chopped and sauteed in butter
1-1/2 cups grated cheddar or marble cheese
3 cups cooked rice
Mix all ingredients (except 1 cup of the grated cheese) together well and put into a buttered casserole dish (about 9x13) and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. About half way through the baking time add the rest of the cheese to the top of the casserole and finish the baking time.
If you want it cheesier just add more cheese. My husband likes a thick layer of cheese on the top so I always add more to his side of the casserole.

I have a recipe that I got from my Kraft magazine, but it makes individual broccoli cups...made in a muffin tin. I don't know why you couldn't just bake it in an 8 X 8 pan instead if you wanted to.
1 cup MINUTE Rice, uncooked
1 cup chicken broth
1-1/2 cups frozen chopped broccoli, thawed, drained
2/3 cup KRAFT Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1/4 cup KRAFT Ranch Dressing
2 eggs, lightly beaten
PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Prepare rice as directed on package, substituting chicken broth for the water. Place cooked rice in large bowl; cool slightly.
STIR in remaining ingredients until well blended. Spoon mixture evenly into 8 greased medium muffin cups.
BAKE 25 min. or until lightly browned.

Oh yea! I do, it's a really easy recipe, you can get it all going at once and be done with in like....15 minutes!
2 boil in bags of Rice (Minute Rice is good)
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 boxes frozen broccoli, cooked in microwave
1 bag shredded cheese (Velveeta shredded makes it really
yummy and smooth!)
1 chopped onion
1 Tablespoon butter or margarine
Put broccoli in microwave, cook according to directions. Put your rice on to boil. Saute your onions in the butter until transparent. Add the 2 cans of soup and heat well. Add your rice when it's done and add your cheese and mix well. Voila!!! Dinner in less than 15 minutes! For a heartier meal, add chopped chicken and serve with a side of salad.
I hope this was the one you were looking for.

This one is very simple:
1-pkg. of frozen broccoli (cook according to pkg. directions)
1 or 2 cans creamed corn (depending how big of a dish wanted)
1 1/2 cups uncooked minute rice
1 jar of cheez whiz
throw all together and bake about 40 minutes at 350
If you would like you can top with cracker crumbs and butter before you bake.
