Well how old are you? what is hindering you're sleep perhaps can be stimulants such as pop with caffeine, teas, exercising before bed which releases endorphins fro energy, eating before bed, nerves thinking about school, projects to do, where your life is going, something is buggin ya in the back of your head try to eliminate what all is buggin ya, eat during day mostly.don;t watch TV before bed or in the bedroom i know it sounds harsh but an hr before bed read or listen to reiki massage music or mood music or enigma, relax a hot bath and hot cocoa yes in summer the milk has tryptophan in it like turkey to make u sleepy. don't drink energy drinks after 4pm. you can run yourself ragged with no sleep and crash .. excercise does not help sleep.. it stimulates the body.. take valerian root tabs at gnc or skullcap tea or chomomile tea from a natural food store.. it is a sedative.. plain old calcium should be taken at night 1,000 mg a night .. when our body sleeps is best to absorb it and it makes u calm. if it isnt mental it is pyhsical.. think of what is concerning you .. then eat better..

Go with the flow; if your body & brain do not wish to sleep stay awake and make that time productive. Worry will wear you out quicker than not sleeping. There are people who do not need to sleep and it has nothing to do with being jacked up on caffeine or anything else. Get in touch with your body. Yoga & meditation are good to explore. Creating a completely blackened bed chamber is sound advice. But truly the bottom line is do you have energy, do you feel healthy, if so stop worrying. There are people who stay awake for four or five days, sleep for one or two and that is simply how they function.

Try to take hot bath and drink warm milk. Don't put the idea of "I must sleep" in your mind, live normally and when you have the desire for sleep, go to the bed. Don't stay on the bed sleepless for a long time, this worsens the problem.
If all these measures fail, you should consult a physician for taking sedatives like Benzodiazipines.

Make sure you use hypoallergenic soaps and detergents. Don't laugh, but it could be bed bugs. Another thing I have found, is that when I suffer from anxiety or stress, I will lay awake feeling uncomfortable and itchy. Try exersizing a little each day and reading or meditating before bed. Anything to relax your mind and body. I have found that my itchiness goes away

Please learn yoga and meditation and practise it regularly. Besides, before going to bed, have a hot water bath. Relax yourself. Doing exercise is not the panacea for sleeplessness.
