Only semi-true. In the far north this is true but in the south of the country it is known for the carpenter of lesser distinction to use the inferior Ritz biscuit for providing the finish to their finest carpentry.

If it were the crisp slices like Melba toast, I could see it as possible. IT certainly wouldn't be very good for wet sanding.
