I stuck signs everywhere. Like "You know you want one" and stuff like that. Also, beg nonstop. Everytime I want something big, I do that. Once my parents were going to buy this new car that sucked and I got them not to get that one. Good luck!! B-)

well first off i really do not think that you can MAKE your parents do anything-you shouldnt want to , and its my opinion, that it's rude.
second-a dog can be a wonderful pet to have, although it is a large resposibility, walking it, playing "fetch" or other exsercise games, going to the vets, feeding ,bathing it goes on and on, they are like babys, and need a lot of love.
have you asked your parents to get a dog? Some home owners insurance policy's forbid certain dogs, for liability purposes.
Apartment building owners face the same thing-unfortunately, the world pays for the worlds mistakes. People have abused the right to have a pet, so much, that it has created havoc on a lot of landlords.
do you have a yard where the dog can run ?
do you live in a big city, where there are hardly any tree's or parks to bring the dog?
do you know that when you walk a dog, you need to bring a bag, so that you can pick up there droppings?
have you ever had another pet?
have you asked your parents, what you could do to earn the right to have a dog?
try starting out with a bird or hampster, as any animal is a huge responsibility.
show them that you are responsible enough, to take on such a responsibility.
dogs can be your best friend, and they are alot of fun-just a really big responsibility, and expense, just like a child would be.

sit down and talk with your parents, see what you could do to earn a "pet" and show them that you are responsible.

i hope my opinion and thoughts help you out. GOOD LUCK KIDDO !!

How old are you? Because , it is very likely, that when you grow up and move out on your own, that dog you "made" your parents get for you will still be alive. It will probably be elderly, and needing more care than a young adult is capable of giving. Especially if you go to college, and have a busy schedule. So, your parents are going to have to want a dog also... And speaking as the parent of four teenagers, you can't "make" them buy you anything. They have to want it too. If you really want a dog, read about all the care it will need, and prove your responsible enough to do your fair share in caring for it.

You can't make your parents do anything. If you want them to buy you something then you ask. If you want a dog then you will have to show a very keen interest and be 100% sure that you understand a dog is for life. You cannot get a dog and then ignore it when the novelty has worn off.

if you want a dog your gonna have to start out small with a hamster or gerbil. By showing your parents you are able to take care of that animal by cleaning the cage, feeding, watering, and playing with the pet. That will show them you are responsible enough to get an animal like a dog. Or possbile ask to dog sit for someone to let your parents know how well you take care of that animal for a weekend.

It's probably not the answer you're looking for, but the best way to get almost everything you want is for your parents being divorced. If the one parent doesn't want to give something, the other most surely will, just to get on your good side. It's definitely not right, but sadly that's the way it works. A friend from high school used this 'trick' often: his mom would say no, so he went to his dad. Just a side-note: I'm glad parents are still married after 35 years.

Are your parents a bank or something? You sound really spoiled and selfish to me. They probably know you are not responsible enough to look after a living creature. What else are you after, a ferrari, plasma screen, hot tub? Grow up, get some self esteem which doesn't come from conning your parents abd bragging about stuff!

you can't 'make' anybody do anything. learn that now. you must talk to them logically instead of whining. find out their reasons for not wanting you to have 'stuff' or a dog. very likely, it could be a money issue. they may not be able to afford it, and 99% of the time they wind up taking care of the dog because children are just too irresponsible....which is quite normal when you're a child.

Are you old enough to be on this site. This is for grown ups. If you want a dog behave responsibly. Will you feed and look after it for the next 15 years? If you are unable to make that commitment best not to have one!

dogs are living creatures and are not stuff you can play with when your board. they need constant care and cost a lot of money to look after. can YOU afford the dog and give it all your time to feed/groom/train and care for it. if you parients dont think so then you should not have one,

why should you parients be stuck looking after any pet that you cant or if you eventualy bet board and want to go out instead.

good luck. they have to want the dog too.
prove that you are responsible
once they see that you are responsible to clean your room, take out the trash, set the table ect.....
then maybe they will see that you will be responsible
enough to care for a dog
having a dog is a lot of work so be sure your up for it
before getting the dog
