I think that we would be better off. It would give people pause for thought .... either to improve their self esteem or to help them improve themselves. People are often far too hard on themselves and don't see the beauty and good in themselves that others do. Likewise it's hard to be objective about your self .... sometimes we miss faults that we could easily work to improve if we knew that we had them. Those who are able to be more objective can give us something useful that we can use to improve ourselves.

It is irrelevant how others see us.

Our worth is determined by God.

God saw us as being valuable enough that She wanted to create us.

This is all that matters.

Humans are often confused and have strange ideas about the value or worth of others. These conclusions or judgments that they make about others are meaningless. They are seldom even based on logic much less a compassionate understanding of the situations the other faces.

All we really need to do is try our best to follow the teachings of the great masters like Jesus or the Buddha. If we follow the simple rules they left for us, no more is necessary.

Jesus asks that we love our neighbor. If we can actually do this we will be fine.

The Buddha asks us to have a deep respect and concern for all living things.

You can’t go wrong if you actually follow either of these ideas.

Love and blessings

At first, yes one would be depressed as we ignore what's wrong with ourselves and forget we are human.
The rest is up to " self acceptance " and a drive to change what need be changed. The reward in the end is priceless.
It's not entirely the situation that matters, rather what and how it's handled that matters most.

hopefully better because we should do something about it. we can change if we are willing to put forth the effort. of course, if we saw ourselves as others truly see us and have no intention of doing anything about it, then we would become totally depressed.

Galatians 4:9 "But now that you know God--or rather are known by God----"

Seeing ourselves as others did would be salutary, but could be misleading as people are fallible.
To see ourselves as God sees us would be life-transforming: we would know just how greatly we are loved and valued, would know how our lives needed to change and would have a reliable criterion to judge ourselves by.

Hopefully a better place but I am afraid many just would not care or choose to believe what they see. "There is none so blind as he who will not see."

"If"? I believe most people know how others view them. The rest of the question is misplaced and irrelevant.
