Question for those beyond the shores of theUK : what are the characteristics of the English ?

What is your opinion of the English ? Just wondered what those outside of the UK think of / picture etc...when they hear of England ? And what are our perceived characteristics ?
What do you like / dislike about England and the English ?

they are fun loving, kind, true to their word, if they dont like you they will tell you. Pom's are great!

that's only because the UK and Ireland are so culturally different to the rest of Europe

Nice people, but they identify with the US more than with mainland Europe. Not wise!
