well 1. you're getting direct contact to the chlorine in the pool to your hair which can cause dramatic fading. That's pretty much it, but using a cap is beneficial for competitive swimmers because your hair is not in the way when you go to breath and its aerodynamic so the cap and your body glides through the water using less muscle strength

I go swimming three times a week and the best thing to do is spray your hair with leave-in conditioner BEFORE you go swimming. This prevents fading and damage. I do this each time, and my hair stays fine.

your hair is like a sponge, it soaks in water, but when it is "full" , it doent take in much more. before swimming, wet your hair with tap water.(soak it). it will be full of decent water and take in far less chlorinated water. This makes a huge difference. Dont forget to rinse after swimming. A leave in conditioner wont hurt, either.

It depends if your hair is colored, if so then it will fade. If not then go and buy a shampoo for use after swimming. I swim a lot and i wash my hair as soon as i am done, my hair is fine.

yes..chlorine is harmful for hair..use a silicone cap by speedo..use conditioner and then wear ur cap..or use oil..this will prevent cholrine from reacting with ur hair..

due to mixing of lots of cleansing agents(chemicals( to) clean the water,wearing the cap is highly recommended.

it may or maynot affect it depends on ur bodycondition but wearing cap is so safe 4 u.

it will dry out your hair if you swim a lot..just make sure you use conditioner every day
