Yeah, it’s especially annoying when your having a conversation with someone by messenger and they keep using “LOL” when they don’t know what to say. I admit I use it occasionally, but not repeatedly.

LOL is just short for "laugh out loud". my question is: what do you have against laughing out loud? or do you feel obliged to write the whole phrase "laugh out loud", which is 12 letters, instead of simply typing three letters that mean the same thing? think logically. ppl don't have time to write 12 whole letters when only 3 are required. they have other things to worry about.

more than half of the words on yahoo answers are mispelled anyway, but as long as you understand the point a person's trying to make it doesn't matter.

so why do you care so f---in' much? and why do you call it "crap" when certain ppl could be offended by that?

I don't. I frequently use LOL or :) as a means to convey to someone online that I'm not being mean or hateful. Depending on how you word things, sometimes people can misinterpret what you say and take offense to something that really was not meant to offend. If it's used excessively, it can be annoying. What I really dislike are people who find it necessary to type all in caps or use 10 exclamation marks or question marks at the end of a sentence.

Yes, especially when you say something and then people type it because they think you're trying to be funny, when you're not(and it isn't), making it pity laughter.
