I haven't found any censorship of Wicca from Yahoo's staff, not here at Answers and not at other areas in Yahoo. Yahoo is based in Emeryville, California, near San Francisco, and a lot of their staff are very aware of paganism and religious witchcraft; they don't think "wicca is satanism" or anything like that.

However, they still have to watch out for legal problems like people telling other people's kids how to avoid their parents' rules, and certain types of verbal abuse, so they will delete or edit questions or blog entries that are in violation of their Terms of Service, regardless of the religion of the author.

Wicca was made up in the 1930's by an old buddy of Aleister Crowley's, probably on a dare. It is a ripoff of some old Frazer myths, coupled with some ceremony a la Golden Dawn. It has as much to do with the religious beliefs of pre-Christian Europe as modern Christianity has to do with pre-Mosaic Hebrew beliefs.

AND it is annoying.

there is probably a ninety p.c. probability that by using the time that she is eighteen she may have misplaced intrest in it. yet that isn't any longer what you requested. the answer is noteasy, yet briefly that is certain. only in the different case. Wiccans are Pagan, they think in better than one god, and many times worship a God and a Goddess. some notwithstanding call themselves ChrostoWiccan and believe in God as a multi faceted being able to many manifestations at a unmarried time. and consider all gods as part of one better god. As for Attending Church being antagonistic to the religion, maximum Wiccans that i comprehend make it a level to study different religions and to study as a lot as plausible from them. each faith has it is expertise and some thing can continuously be discovered from an afternoon interior the organization of folk who're diverse from your self. Many Pagans do have a diverse perception interior the introduction of the universe than what the Christians do. i'd reccomend that you purchase some books, ideally by using Scott Cunningham. he's between the most appropriate authors on Wicca. and browse up on it for your self. this kind you'll understand what that is that your daughter is doing. Wicca and quite a number of alternative sorts of Paganism (I ensue to be a Celtic Pagan) furnish tremendous perception right into a non secular existence. yet unfortunatly that is likewise exploited by using hollywood and many little ones get into it beause it has develop into the "cool" component to be. they dabble for decades, or perhaps as they do no longer see the failings that they noted interior the flicks they develop into boared. and then both develop into Athiest or revert to a monothestic faith. some do stumble on a connection to the gods, and they bypass on to lead acceptable lives. like i stated study up on it and browse nicely time-honored authors, Scott cunningham and Silver ravenwolf are tremendous for novices. comprehend what the religion is about. i'd wager that your daughter has a Wiccan pal that she is getting all of her tips from. study the religion your self, and comprehend it. that way you'll comprehend what to seem out for, and what sorts of practices aren't to any extent further of the religion.

I think that Wiccans are misunderstood because so many have it in their head that it is a form of Satanism. I have had a lot of people welcome me because I am Wiccan, and although I do not hide the fact that I am Wiccan by any means, I'm not even sure if a lot of people in my area know that I am. If they do, they do not say much about it. They focus more on your clothing around here, though, and they like to pick on me about that, but I just look over people that are insecure and/or show ignorance in the things that they know nothing about.

Censorship from the Yahoo! staff? Nope. The little bit of negativity that has been directed toward me has been from other members.

You better hope that Yahoo staff don't start censoring people who ask daft questions.

wiccans are treated poorly by staff i think because ignorant christians report them as abuse for asking questions....i thought that was what this is for..asking questions. apparently, you have to ask the "RIGHT" questions.
