i can use the phone when it is plugged in under the arm rest but i want to use it via bluetooth so i don't have to plug it in. i paired the phone with the car but it wouldn't work using the cars controls

Your phone may be set up incorrectly, or the settings of the command madule may need adjusting, but i just hope for your sake Mercedes have sorted the bluetooth link ECU problems of yesteryear. I have read about certain manufacturers not recommending bluetooth as it causes ECU faults...including engine stops etc.. my advice to you is sticvk it in its holder and leave it there, its safer for you
