what do you think a myspace

Myspace is a website...that is all. It's safety or lack of it lies in the user and if people monitored their children, then they wouldn't need to cry out about how dangerous it is or isn't. I am a Myspacer and I use common sense. I do not agree to meet people from Myspace if I don't know them. I do not "hook up" with Myspacers. It is not for that purpose. It isn't always the same as reality, people! On Myspace you can be as frank or as evasive as you like but so can anyone else. Let's not blame a website for our gullibility. It is as safe as you make it.
Just my opinion...

Myspace is just another medium.

You teach your kids not to answer the telephone and say "mommy's not home right now"...

You teach them not to open the door, when you're not there.

You teach them NOT to talk to strangers...

Like a gun that can be used to defend yourself... or an airplane that can be used as a missile to crash into a building... people will find ways to use something in a good (constructive) or bad (destructive) way.

MySpace is NO different.

Handle it the same way... Watch them until they are old/smart enough to understand the dangers... then monitor them so they don't get outsmarted... and don't allow them access when you can't do the previous.

I think it's an old answer to old problem... with a new face.

Yes..in fact MySpace needs to get rid of the section where you post your High School Name. That way anyone can locate you or Stalk you.

Yeah.. they should have a special website called MyStupidKid.com where all the stupid kids can go and have special protection from internet creepies. The rest of the world's population know how to handle them.

It's only a danger to stupid kids.. no offence to anyone, but the only way you could get yourself into trouble is to give out personal information to people you don't know or to just have it out in the open.
