In probability terms:
PMF = Probability Mass Function
It can be better described as P(X <= x), which is the probability that a random variable X is less than or equal to the value x. So for example, a PMF described by F(3) = 0.9 means that 90% of the time your random value is going to be less than or equal to 3.
pdf = Probability density function
Used to describe the probablity of a continuous random variable. It's useless for a single point, since a continuous random variable has infinite points, and the probability of getting one value out of an infinite number of possibilities is 0. Instead, you use the pdf to describe a range of numbers. So you can use the pdf to find the probability that a value will fall between, say 3 and 3.5.
Hope this helps and good luck.

# PMF is the abbreviation for the Indian Paramilitary Forces
# PMF can stand for the American Presidential Management Fellows Program
# In Statistics, PMF can stand for a Probability mass function
# In Biology PMF, can stand for Proton motive force or Peptide mass fingerprinting
A PDF is a Portable Document File, a format created by Adobe software to ensure that the look of the document is preserved on whatever platform or printer is is accessed.
Had you classified this question correctly, you would perhaps have more informed answers (assuming it to be a financial question).

I bet you're refering to A Probability mass function
and a probability distribution function
both are different ways of graphically representing probability in statistics
if I remember correctly a probability mass function is only the number of events that happens and additional calcs need to be done to determine the probability
whereas a probabilty distribution fucntion is the actualy probability for each item
