Other mammals will drink milk when it is available to them.
In today's world we probably do not need to, however, in a agricultural or herding society it was a good source of nutrition and calcium.

the problem the other mammals face is that once they r grown up their mothers leave them out to live on their own. we as humans have other sources to get milk like from the stores or from other animals but for these mammals there is no other way to get milk so even if they wish to they cant feed on milk once they grow up

Contrary to popular belief, cats are lactose intolerant and will have severe diahrrea if they are given milk to drink.

Because we discovered that cheese, which was discovered accidentally in the days before modern preservation methods like freezing and canning, is nice. Much more so than milk. The world's good cheeses like Roquefort, Camembert, Brie, Stilton, Gorgonzola, Feta, and especially all those Swiss cheeses with holes in them like Gruyére are very very good. Plus hundreds of others which I don't know about.

I have no idea. I guess it's 'cause we don't get enough calcium and it's the most well known way for us to get calcium. Milk does go well with cereal though. Same with Oreos and chocolate chip cookies. Now that I think about it... milk is used for a lotta food!

Are you forgetting cats? and there are more animals that will opportunistically feed on milk whenever available! Most predatory mammals that are carnavores are milk drinkers!

As for cats, they like to drink milk too, but be careful, cow milk is not good for cat, too much fat in it, and can made them sick.
For my cat I buy some "cat milk" in the pharmacy, which is made especially for cats, and he like it very much.
