Hey AuntB93 - a mullet is a hairstyle which is short on the top and sides but long at the back. Michael Bolton had possible the greatest ever mullet in the 1980s, but he cut it off. Billy Ray Cyrus may still be sporting a mullet. Hope this helps.

Oh my gosh!! I just realized that in the 70's I wore a mullet!!! I ordered a shag hair style and your description of a mullet was what I got!! I haven't worn that hairstyle in years!! My shag did look really different than the one that one of my friends wore! I wanted HER hairstyle!! Not mine!!

Forgive my ignorance, but what is a mullet? I looked it up in the dictionary and it says it is a fish (which was my guess). Surely you don't mean people WEAR fish?
Edit after definition was posted: No, I don't remember seeing anything like that around here (Santa Cruz County, California). And the hairstyles here are decidedly weird, believe me!

Oh they're still around. A while ago, I saw a whole family of mullets, Mom, Dad, and the two boys. Scary
