This is a very good question! Every child is unique and has his/her own agenda. My 3 1/2 year old son is very outspoken and speaks his mind clearly and often, sometimes at the expensive of the "guy with the big belly that looks like he is going to have a baby like my mommy!" in front of us at the grocery store. But all in all he is a very loving, honest and well-mannered preschooler; I like to think it is because of my careful guidance :)
However, I also run an in-home daycare...in which I have a just-turned-3-year-old, an almost 3 1/2 year old, and a 4 year old. They are all as different as different could be, the youngest is very quiet and plays by himself often, the middle one is the only girl and she is a very aggressive and sometimes just plain mean little girl who hits, kicks and spits at other kids daily despite my best efforts to curb the behavior, and the 4 year old is generally a very nice boy but can be very manipulative of the other kids (saying things like, "If you don't give me the green car I won't play with you anymore and I won't be your friend". SO...it's all about the environment and individual personality. Hope this was helpful!

A person's attitude develops at this age; what fun it can be! My kids are great and I have to say they are still a lot like they were then, only way smarter. We could even see similarities to other people in our families, people don't fall far from the tree!

I think people have the best attitudes when they are this age. All fun and games!

it is very difficult to answer that one, because every child is an individual. my daughter who is now 4 and a half and at the age of 3 was stubborn, wrote on the walls etc. just a hand full, but still adorable and now i laugh at the things she used to do at 3years. when she turned 4, she became very independent overnight, well spoken, listen sometimes, very lady-like, chooses her own clothes and does not like being told what to where and what to eat. its and age you can related to them, because they are more mature. i do not know what is waiting for me at the age of 5 and i can not wait. hope this helps you. good luck from one parent to you. remember to love them unconditionally
