it may be fox-mange, if you take your dog anywhere that foxes may have been, it's likely. Is she also has been itching around her legs and tail and bottom. My terrier had fox-mange and had to have an injection and anti-biotics. Take her to the vet to get checked.

Hi,
If the ears are not hot to touch or swollen or red. with no signs of scratches or marks to the skin. I would not be too worried. Look inside the ear to see if you can see any wax build up or dirt that might be causing an irritation. If you can see a black speckled look it is possible your dog has ear mites. Very common and easily fixed. Most pet shops supply a cleaner that kills ear mites. (Cheaply) It May be that your dog has a reaction to a small bite or plant that he rubbed past but if you can not find any thing on the skin or redness or heat I would leave it alone and see if it gets better. Obviously if it doesn't or it gets worse there's nothing like a trip to the vets to put your mind at ease. I does not sound like anything to be concerned about as it stands.
Hope this helps.
Michelle from England.

Definitely could be allergies. She is scratching so much that she is losing her fur in these areas. Take her to a vet. They can prescribe medicine to lessen the allergies. Lots of times, benadryl will work, but the vet has to tell you just how much to give it.
