No, the volunteers in the Military serve better than draftees. It's been proven in the past (Vietnam War).

Re-institution of the draft and terms like "'back-door draft" are the scare tactic buzz words which Kerry tried to use in 2004.
Regardless of the military meeting its recruitment goals and 2/3 of the military reenlisting dolts like TLC still cry about a draft that went away 30 years ago...
I was effected by stop-loss twice while I was in the military. Calling my tour extended by a few months does not qualify as a "back door draft" and is not an indicator that the draft is imminent...

There is already what amounts to a 'back-door' draft:
All the national guard who are posted overseas, for tours of duty that exceed the norm and, second, stop-loss orders by the US military that prevent military personnel from leaving the service at their due time i.e. they're forced into another tour.
At the present low rate of personnel take-on, and with there being no end to this war in sight, it's likely that a full draft will be instituted -- it's only a matter of time.

not only do volunteers perform better, but not many of the draftees would meet the governments physical requirements to be in the military. Many people who signed up were turned away after 9-11.

No.
The military neither needs nor wants draftees.
