I am a cat person, too. If you use a spray bottle with some water in it and squirt him when he climbs, that may curb it. In fact, every cat I've ever had, that's how I've trained them. One or two good squirts and they will stop doing what they're doing even if they just SEE the squirt bottle!

Get a spray bottle and fill it with water. Every time he climbs up, squirt him once or twice until he's uncomfortable and gets down. He'll learn after just a few times.

Fill a spray bottle with water and squirt him when he does. Put pennies in a soda can and shake it like crazy when he goes up the screen.

cats love looking outside so try getting it used to looking outside the window instead of the screen door.

cats usually hate water so you might want to try a water gun if your cat still climbs and nothing seems to work he is still young enough that you might want to get the front claws declawed also cats love scratching things so you might want to think of getting a scratching post or a scratching tree that the cat can climb on hope it works!!!
