This is kinda what Satanists believe, except that they believe God and his followers are evil, and Satan good. The Cathars of Southern France & Northern Spain used to believe that the Earth was created by the Devil and that the God of Christians &c. was, in fact, the Devil. These guys were basically entirely wiped out by the armies of the Pope in the 13th & 14th centuries. The real meaning of the name Lucifer is "the bringer of light". You are not the first to decide on this possibility, and given that the worst perpetrators of organised violence in the world right now profess to be religious Jews, Christians and Muslims, your idea is not so stupid as the inevitable backlash you're going to get from other answerers would have you believe. I've been called a demon on this site, but I take that as a compliment, because the ancient Greek word daemon meant genius and communicator with spirits. It was only the biblebangers that misappropriated the word and gave it a negative association. There are many examples of words related to non-religious or other religious mystical beliefs that have been demonised in this way. I could go on. But I won't.
BTW The Cathars were mostly pacifist vegetarians and yet they were supposed to be evil. Go figure.

And Lucifer means bringer of light. You cannot have light without darkness; there would be no such concept of figure without ground. It is not really a question of God and Satan, but of light and darkness, white and black, etc. The knowledge is in the contrasts. We use the word God to refer to that which is light, knowledge, love, wisdom, truth, bounty; and Satan to refer to that which is darkness, ignorance, hate, confusion, lies, need. But this is vocabulary; the entities involved are known by our relation to them, and can in fact be seen to be part of the same whole, the way the yin/yang symbol makes them.
Remember, too, that black and white are not the only crayons in the box. Do you know anything of Kabbalah and the Tree of Life?

Then we need to have a cookoff...like on the Iron Chef, except have it on Martha Stuart LIVE!!! Give them all sorts of food and tell them to cook for the masses. The chef that keeps tasting his own food and then puts the spoon back into the mixture has to be Satan cuz he doesn't know right off the bat that his food is GOOD and also doesn't realize what bad taste it is to put the spoon back in. I could get supernatural cooties or something.

Satan did not give us knowledge. God said to Adam and Eve not to eat of that tree. Before Satan tempted them, they only knew happiness and good. With their fall from grace, sorrow, grief, murder, lust, stealing adultery came with this which Satan is head of. He loves to make people rebel against Our Lord. When they ate they came to to knowledge of how to do evil also. And God doesnt want sacrifices He would like us to be thankful for all the bounty He provides.

In fifty 5 years of my existence, I genuinely have by no potential had a non believing chum ever circulate in any way in direction of any faith. If something, maximum have become particularly extra proof against this style of element, by way of their extra beneficial amassed know-how concerning to the absurdity of all religions. non secular human beings like to push the myth of the atheist who joins their faith. it is so uncommon an experience, that it is turns into noteworthy because of the fact it is so uncommon. meanwhile, those comparable believers ignore concerning to the veritable floods of their former fellow believers leaving their faith for atheism, mutually as focusing on the very uncommon shifting atheist. That, of direction, is a demonstrate of dishonesty.

think about it stupid.. it is on how you understand the word.. if you mean GOD when you say god.. then to whom are you refering? isnt it god? and u say satan if you mean satan.
Even if i call you god, it doesnt matter as long as i dont mean it!!!
another thing, a society has several cultures, and in each culture, they have their own languages, it may be hard to realize but each of them had agreed on what words to use to specify such things and matter!! got it stupid?

Satan IS supposed to be the ultimate liar, right? Seems fitting he would try to pose as the church.

i too have noticed a lot of wolves dressed in sheep skin. do yourself a favor and read the old testament. i don't think that there is a reversal of roles here, but i do believe that there are countless devils misrepresenting God's original word.
