It wouldn't suprise me at all! Its impossible for something, like the bible, that has been translated many times to not have some sort of error...or just be a great story, you know?! Personally, my faith doesn't rely on the bible or going to church at all...I make my own accessment of what's fact and what's not...

I think the important question is what if everything about Jesus is true? As a Christian I don't have to worry about the way I live and act. If the Bible ends up being a lie then I just die. However if Christians are right, then where will you stand on judgment day? Not all Christians are following Jesus. I think it's those people who give Christians a bad name and cause problem in the world. As far as not being there goes, I don't think it really matters if I was there or not. There are plenty of other historical records besides the Bible that talk about the old testament times. By that logic you are saying that just because I wasn't around during the Civil Wars means I don't no anything about what went on during it. I pray that you give some thought to the idea that the bible is true and see where you stand. I have no problem with Christ being a lie because I'm prepare for Him to be the Truth. God Bless

I'm not sure what the relevance of the third versus first person thing is supposed to be. Why would Jesus even have disciples, if he didn't mean for them to carry his message out to the world? The New Testament is one of the fruits of this purpose that he commissioned them for.

As to the whole wars business, I think I'd beg to differ. The quite secular wars of the 20th century spilled more blood than all other wars in human history put together.

If you are looking for sources of "proof" not related to the bible, these too exist. One need only look to the writings of the early church fathers who ably demonstrated that the Greek philosophers anticipated Christianity every bit as much as the Old Testament did (see Augustine, Confessions, books VII & VIII). And then there are Aquinas' natural proofs.

But faith isn't about proof, is it? Do you live your life like Sherlock Holmes, believing only about yourself, your family, the things you've seen in your microscope? When your mother tells you you were born at three in the morning, do you call up the retired medical professionals who were on that shift at the hospital that night, and verify this before you accept it?

I refuse to see the glass as half empty... I refuse even to see it as half full, for that's only the half I can see. What if the world is more wonderful than we imagine? What if....

...what if just maybe, just maybe... everything I thought about Jesus was true?

Whatever yout beliefs, may you shine with bright blessings.

It isn't a possibility that the Bible is wrong. It just isn't. . it's more likely that I'll wake up tomorrow with a unicorn horn than that the Bible could be wrong about anything.

You have very little idea of how much evidence there is (on so many different levels) that the Bible is true in everything it states. It couldn't possibly be wrong. It is far more correct than any other book that's ever been written, and it has a more-than-amazing track record about being right about history, science, archeology, everything it touches it is dead right about.

It's more likely that you could take a running leap and jump up and land on the moon than that the Bible could be wrong about anything, let alone what it says about Jesus.

It just isn't within the scope of possibility.

(and do a search on any keyword in the debate on the reliability of the Bible (like "carbon dating" or "starlight and time" . . or "natural selection" ). .
and then read the articles with an open mind.

(articles written by cutting-edge scientists with advanced degrees (generally Ph.D's)

Btw, suppose you count how many wars were really fought because of Christianity [most of these wars that so many say had something to do with Christianity had nothing to do with real Christianity]

count how many of these wars had anything to do with real Christianity, and then compare that with how many wars have been fought because of Islam

. . when you're done with that, compare it to how many tens of millions of people have died because of the influence of atheistic Darwinism (like all the millions that Hitler and Stalin between them, were responsible for the killing of (upwards of 100 million people)

I've always felt that way.

They say that they have "faith in jesus"

But really they only have faith in the idea that man can accuratly assemble, translate, and pass on a story for 2000 years.
NY Times or Dan Rather can't even get the story right from one day to the next, but the bible is without a single flaw....

Its the bible, so its true. Its true, because the bible says so.

Its a logic loop based on nothing.

Everything I think about Jesus Is the truth and there is no fault in Him. You should not speak of things in your feeble understanding, if you have not met Him. There were many witness to Jesus time which have recorded a secular view of the times not just the bible. Do you think that people didn't keep records back then? History tells us that many cities had indoor plumbing. Do you think that people weren't as smart as now?

The Bible itself isn't lying. It's the people who translated the Bible from aramaic to the different languages of the world that made a terrible mistake in translation. This terible mistake is being perpetuated today by the current Christian religions, most particularly the Roman Catholic Church. They know of the errors in biblical translation but will not do anything to correct this because it will totally destroy their organization, power and influence over all the Christians in the world.

God cannot lie, and since Christ does everything He sees His father Do, then The Word of God is true.

We acknowledge Him as Lord, because He guide us, leads us, and delivers us out of temptation and the hands of wicked men, He gives us peace within, therefore He is also called prince of peace, counsellor, deliverer. When perils overtake us, escape He make us. Therefore He is Lord of Lord and King of Kings. And what other religion has a God that is so near. And knowing He is king, would you approach an earthly king in the fashion you talk about OUr Lord And Saviour Christ Jesus?

What if it's not a lie?
The bible say's there is one sin that will not be forgiven and that is speaking out against the holy spirit and God, the holy spirit and Jesus are one. So when a person doubts the word of God they are damned already.

God is real, religon is man made. the bible is written in mans hand not gods every thing in the bible could be true and the word of god but over 1500 years of editing means it could have been altered by popes and politicans. they just found the book of judas in a bank vault in new york that redeems the jews why was that book withheld from the bible, politics?
I personally believe most could be true but 1500 years of tampering makes it unreliable to have blind faith in it.
Can you tell the truth from the tampered?
What other books are missing?
Has things been inverted to offend god? like eating his only son he sent to you to save your souls on a pegan altar and drink his blood every sunday.
If you did that to my son I would be offended!
Altars are for sacrafical killings why do we have them in our churches? they were really used in the past!. thats not god like?
The first writings of jesus wasnt until 500 years after his death.
Can you tell a story about some one 500 years later with no written records to go by?
I trust the knowledge god gave me not this stuff It just makes you feel unworthy and a sinner, You will know him by his fruit love and joy not shame and sorrow.
