I don't. If I'm in a public place or at work, I try not to make it obvious, but I still do it. "Better to be in shame than in pain!" If I'm at home, I let 'em rip. I'm a woman, but I'm still human, and still full of gas. Everyone knows we fart and burp too, so why try to hide it?

Because the society norm pictures women as non-belching, non-farting human beings. "Manners" and what is considered "gross" are just concepts of what our society wants us to think. Brainwashing. Only, we have been taught this since the day we were born.
I blame the media. It would also be a lot easier for us guys too if we were able to belch and fart and it would not be considered gross. It would be better for everyone! Wouldn't that be a wonderful world?

Of course women fart etc (not so sure about the belching, that seems to be a male thing) BUT they don't turn it into a career and vacuous entertainment like some men do!!

That's simple, most women are raised by their mother's to believe that burping, or breaking wind in front of other people is a disgusting and very *unlady* like thing to do.
That and the bulk of society also teaches women from very young ages, that such things are *trashy* or only *men* do them (at least in front of people). You never see a Queen letting loose, or a movie actress, singer, or any famous media person letting'er rip. Even they act embaressed if it happens in front of others.
Don't worry, once you get older and settle down with some lovely lady, she will soon start breaking wind in front of you, if not on you while you sleep. That and you might find her shaving her face early in the morning (to her horror if you catch her), and doing lots of other disturbing things that most men would run screaming from. Of course, that is also when you know you are really in love.

Here in "redneck land" all the women I have ever met belch and fart all the time. What's wrong with that? It kanda turns me on, know what I mean..

Coz men are too idealistic that they want women to be more demure. Plus the fact that more than half the people are either too disciplined or too particular with etiquette.

I don't think we act like we don't do those things. We just prefer to NOT have those particular body functions enjoyed by others around us. It's called "manners."
