Yes, all Christians do indeed worship the same God. However, there is a difference of opinion amongst the various Christian denominations as far as the proper way to worship.
Much of the animosity is based on honest misunderstanding of Catholic beliefs and practices, on the part of the non-Catholic Christians. Some of it has to do with arrogance; they are righteous, we are evil and it's as simple as that.
And then there are the misguided who believe hating Catholics, or anyone else not of their particular denomination, is proper.
Regardless, we must bear their comments with a grain of salt and instruct them in their error and hope they will consider the Truth.

Ihave no dislike against Catholics, but your doctrine is so different. We take Holy communion in remembrance of Christ last supper on earth, Catholics actually think the bread becomes the body of Christ. No where in the Bible does this say so. The virgin Mary is worshipped. Christ died for her the same as all of mankind who believe in Him, She called Him Lord as Christ was since the begiinning of creation, when God said "Let us make man into our image." Priest arent allowed to marry, no where in the Bible is marriage forbidden between a man and a woman. You have a place called purgatory, which there is no such place, it is just a ruse for the Catholic church to raise more money. Also that your good works will get you into heaven. Not so, It is by grace we are saved it is the free gift of God. Just think how is a handicap person being able to do good deeds. And a millionaire could really do a lot of good deeds, whereas a poor man couldnt. God has no respect of persons. Read the King James version. And ask the Lord to give you understanding and open your heart and mind when you read it.

There certainly is no reason for anyone to be hostile, but I can tell you what I find strange about the catholics.
1. They pray to the Savior's mother.
2. They call a Meir man "The Holy Father"
3. They Chant "Hail Mary's" multiple times...I don't think God wants us hail anyone but Him and if we did, he's not deaf....once would be enough.
4. The have a graven image of Christ in every church Whom they look at and pray to.
5. They believe that confessing sins to a man and saying hail marys will give them forgiveness.....that's not true repentance.
6. They are more about ceremony than praise.
Don't get me wrong, Catholics that I know are some of the nicest people I've ever met.....But they are very ritualistic and not biblical.

Hi. I think the hostility simply comes from being a "Catholic" Christian. Supposedly we catholics worship the Pope, some ppl think. And this hostility is a common feature in all religion today, Period. As long as the Anti-God (how very PC of me) manages to make us fight among ourselves, it serves him just fine, dosen't it? I always wonder what will happen when the Messiah returns, and finds us in our Christian websites, insulting other christians? What a terrific thing for us all to be doing!

Hostility comes from a lack of understanding: Catholics do not worship Mary or the saints. What they do is ask for their intercession which is an act of humility before god. the Pope is not regarded as infallible in all matters, only in issues of doctrine and faith. Only a very small number of infallible statements have been made since this doctrine was established in 1870.
Confession via a priest is again regarded as an act of humility and is a sacrament of the church.

Besides the fact that the other groups came out of the Catholic Church and they have a very long memory, the Catholic rites are pagan. Earth, air, fire, and water, and an entire pantheon of gods who are called upon during worship.
Try reading about ancient middle eastern religions -Sumerian and Babylonian, a little Canaanite, a little Persian.... You might be surprised at how much of it is familar.

Without hostility I ask you to check the dogmas of your religion and compare to the bible (non-catholic) this will show you some of the reasons why the others broke away from the Cathplic church.
I also invite you to check your history books on the Catholic church and see how they are responsible for the deaths of more people than ant other group or groups combined.
Then check the Canadian history of the schools they ran there and see why the ex-students want to sue the church.

Whatever your religion be, let it be Christian, Islam, Buddhism or whatever, it's not the issue of religion but your own personal issues. I'm also a Catholic but we have to admit that sometimes other Catholics (sad to say) act as if they're superior than other religions that they'd seem to create the issue of what your religion is. We all worship the same God but to some who just can't help but do what's SO wrong, i think it's with the fallen angel.

There is a Spirit of Division that is stronger in some parts of the body of Christ than others. While the Holy Spirit is working to bring the Bride of Christ into wholeness and some sort of Unity, this Spirit works to tear it down.
Also, there are a lot of people whose only knowledge of the church comes only from their World civ class about the dark ages and the Inquisition!
God forgive the little old Ladies who gush about Mary as if She was Co-Redemptress, too. That sets back Catholic Church PR back about a hundred years every time too.

I am protestant. My oldest friend in the word is Catholic. We've been pals almost 30 years now, and I am only 35. I have no problems with him, but there are a number of things about his religion and the men who run it that I dislike.
1. My sins are between God and me. JESUS said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the father but by ME." In his own words in scripture the Lord has told me that I don't need to confess to a priest and do penance to be forgiven. I need to confess to God and stop sinning. That said, I can see where the ritual would be very comforting to some people, but I wouldn't want it to prevent me from participating in Holy Communion.
2. Doesn't the worshipping of saints violate the first commandment? I am the Lord your God. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
3. Women are not allowed to participate fully in all the sacrements of the faith because they cannot become priests.
4. There was only ever one perfect man to walk the earth, and he was NOT the pope! Besides, how can the pope be perfect when he contradicts himself and/or one or more of the other supposedly perfect popes that came before him. And if he is right about something, that means the popes before him were wrong.
5. Birth control is not a sin. It is common sense. What is worse, preventing a baby or having a baby you can't care for because you are too poor, too busy, too irresponsibe, or too young?
6. In my travels, I have seen millions, maybe billions of dollars worth of gold and silver artifacts donated to the church. I have seen walls of churches COVERED in gold. And at the doors to those same churches I have had starving, blind old women and children born with missing and deformed limbs begging me for pocket change and scraps of food. Why not trade some of those precious metals to care for the poor and needy?
7. For years, the Vatican systematically covered up child sexual abuse as a matter of policy.
There are a lot of other things I could take issue with, but these are the ones that are most prevalent in modern society.
I don't have a problem with Catholics, but I am bothered by anyone who blindly accepts whatever they are told by their clerics. That's how we end up with IRA, Taliban, and Hezbollah suicide bombers.
Being a person of faith, ANY FAITH, does not mean you must give up the ability to think for yourself. You still need to study your scriptures and really think about what they mean to you personally and in the larger context of the world.
