Does anyone have any ideas on how I can convince him to get some help ? And help him to not want to try anything like that again? Thanks for your help.

you need to know why. it's better to get to the root of the problem. i mean, don't get me wrong, therapy is a must, but why is he acting that way? did he lose his job? family member die? was he molested? sexually confused? whatever the case, he just needs positivity on the reason he's trying to give up life.

May be you need to tell him and i think tell your self too about Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross, and then advice him to go to the church and there he will find a loving heavenly family who will give him the care he needs

If u can't, then look someone that he close with,
Can be friend or relative, but not parents, then ask him to talk nicely (not angry or telling not to do so) to your cousin.
in short, get in deep with yr cousin, find the root, then you can save him.

You just need to be truthful with him and let him know that he needs to do something. Let him know that people care about him and want to see him get well. Sometimes they have to make the decision to get help themselves, but it cant help for you to tell him that you support his decision to get help. Good luck!
