What do food allergies have to do with your hair?

Better not. You may get allergy for the dye. Not only that you may get allergy for any drug even some times for vitamins also. Dye contains chemicals : so there is possibility for allergy to the hair dye. If you are very particular you apply 2 or 3 drops -small quantity of hair dye at the back of your head behind the ear; wait for 1/2 an hour ; if ther is itching or swelling in that area , you can be sure that you are having allergy to the hair dye .Otherwise you can proceed. Even then after wards at any time you might get allergy to the hair dye. So better to avoid it.

There is always a protocol before using a dye..that is do Patch testing. Instructions on how to do this usuallu found at the container/ packaging of the dye. In salons, you can do it by applying a liitle on your hands then wait for an hour. If you see redness or it becomes itchy..then you are allergic to that. It is not related with food allergy because food are taken orally while dyes are just superficial ( contacts only the outer layer of skin/ scalp). Hope this helps.

It is always good to do a skin test---put a little on a small a hidden piece of hair then wait 24 hrs---may cost extra money because u will need a extra box of color---but u will also be getting to see what the hair will look like to make sure those are the results u want----only leave it on your gair for the time required on the directions

Depends on what food allergy you have. I am allergic to red food coloring, but I still dye my hair red. (Bring out my natural Irish color :) )
