No. When I was in nursing school the same question came up and the answer is people donate their bodies to science. Are you thinking about doing the same?

The bodies are donated to medical science. They are then processed by a company that preserves them (in formaldeyde and other nasty chemicals).

The university then buys the cadavers off the processing company.

It's similar to the way blood donation works in the UK - the blood is donated, but the hospital has to pay for it to cover processing costs.

There is always a shortage of cadavers for medical purposes. In an ideal world there would be enough people who donate their mortal remains, but in practice it is far from enough. So, yes, you are probably right that they buy them as well. I'm sure that a long ethical evaluation process is involved, before such a transaction is closed. At least I hope there is.

Many people donate their bodies to medical science after they die, so these gifts are a major source of cadavers.

NO.
A person can sign up to donate his body while he is alive and when he dies the college comes to pick it up.
Who are you going to pay anyway?
