The family dog keeps farting while she is sleeping. She is almost 5 yrs old. This happened recently. This is getting rather annoying and gross to say the least. We fed her twice a day and sometimes she has Charlie Brown treats which is from Trader Joes and Cesar Canine Treats which is dog food from Costco. Is it possible it is the food? If so, is there anything we can do so, she stops farting during the night?

pugs are gassy, so they shouldn't have CORN (doesn't ffully digest) SOY (beans!) Beet Pulp (hurries digestion, so that nutrients don't ully digest)
If any of these are in your kibble, it will certainly help if you change to a meat, chicken, rice based food.

I live in a houseful of dogs, and don't have anymore problems since switching to Canidae....Wellness, Innova, Wysong, and Solid Gold are all premium kibbles that digest well.

You will find at least some of these brands at your local pet supply. they do cost more per bag, but less per month, as dogs eat less, and waste (poop) less, and your night-times will smell sweeter.

If it's a recent problem, it's definitely got something to do with what you're feeding her. I 100% agree with the other person who advised you to get premium dog food; it is worth it in so many ways. Now, I don't know if your dog has this problem, but we used to own a Doberman who positively inhaled her food...you could barely even hear her chewing, she ate so fast!! Needless to say, she ingested quite a bit of air this way, and what goes in must come out... We tried several solutions, and finally found one that works: we placed an object (tennis ball, large spoon, etc.) in her bowl and then put her food in. This forced her to slow down a little bit because she had to eat around the item. Of course, use common sense here...don't put anything in that the dog could potentially choke on. Hope your evenings are sweeter!!

LMAO!!! Pugs FART!!! sorry to break this to you but the breed is known to be gassy, I have one too!! but since you say this problem is recent it probably has something to do with her diet.....like the answer above says try to put her (or him) on a better dog food & also check the treats for their list of ingredients! GOOD LUCK!!!(and plug your nose...lol)

Fart back at her. This will really gross her out, and she'll get the message right away. Just don't light a match.

Give her digestive enzymes and probiotics and you will have it solved in no-time. Absolutely safe and natural. Good luck.

I say duct tape her bottom-it solve all problems whether big or small! But please shave her first so it doesn't hurt when you take it off in the morning!
