In most cases, yes. They are quiet. Sometimes if you flip a room light on around their cage they'll chitter to greet you or to ask what's going on. If you cover their cage at night they'll still do this, but it's not a huge problem unless you're a light sleeper.

As soon as the sun is up, though, they may start making noise. This can be early as 5 am, though if your cage cover is on, they may wait until 8 before the morning noise starts. :-)

My best friend has parakeets. They are fairly quiet at night. They sing the most in the morning or on warm days.

No. If you turn out all the lights they go to sleep. Mine only is loud, when I play music, or when she was with her old companion. Actually, she will get loud, and she wants the lights out late at night. She falls right asleep.

they don't look to be loud in case you turn the elementary off, turn off the television once you've one, and canopy the cage with a blanket of a few style. Then the parakeet will recognize it really is nighttime time and he/she will be able to bypass to mattress in basic terms such as you!

If there is alot of noise surrounding them, they will get excited and be noisy. I never cover up my bird's cages and they are dead quiet at night. This may be a "species thing": I can't be sure. If you want to cover them then use a DARK, densely-woven cloth: light colored, gauzy covers are pretty useless.

Not if you put the cage cover over the cage. You have to "make it dark" for birds to "go to bed." Just as when the sun goes down, the birds go to sleep.

if you put a sheet over their cage, they go to sleep because they think it's nighttime. i thought that was just a joke until i had parakeets and they wouldn't shut up until i did that.

Generally, when you put the cover on their cage, they are quiet for the night.

Not if you cover them up so they are in the dark. By nature, birds tend to stay quiet while in the dark.
