This is a felony case - happened 3 months ago and the case is still nowhere. continuances, etc. How long can the delays take and how long can the accused think about the plea before they have to say YES i take the deal on the table or NO I want to go to trial and take my chances?

I am not the accused, I was the victim. The accused is out on bail and I have sleepless nights. I was just wondering how long this might drag on.

The delays can take years. There are also pre-trial conferences, Early disposition, etc. Usually if the defendant fights it until the bitter end, she will be offered a plea bargain and reduced sentence, possibly probation. 3 months is nothing--in the USA anyway. One felony, unless it is murder, will most likely end up with probation and community service/fine. It is a defence tactic for delay after delay even in waiting for a plea bargain.

I'm told the longer the case goes on better for the accused. hang in there and be patient it could work to your advantage. it could take years. it's not easy and it's very frustrating'

Felony? what class? A.B.C.D.?

Sounds like your guilty, and buying time. I would say, in your case, you have not got long.

Good Luck.
