Why don't prisons have their own tattoo parlors?

Prison do not allow inmates to get tattoos. Here in New Hampshire a person is not allowed to get a tattoo when they are on probation or parole. The prisons keep track of every mark on a person's body so if they escape they have this information on hand.

Also many prisons misuse tax-payer's money. The inmates survives on the money their families send them. Inmates do not get things like personal hygiene products unless the family sends them money.

Because you don't want to give the prisoners what they want..they are in jail for punishment...not fun. And plus..how could they charge for the tatoos????? It's not like the prisoners are walking around with a change pouch full of 5 dollar bills and credit cards while they are doing time! Come on, use your head.

What general fund? prisoners would not really give a ****.
they would not pay the money, they would stay with the way they do it now, which is gettin a 'home boy' to do it. they have their own homemade tattoo gun and ink.

Well, an obvious issue here would be the tools they require to give tattoos. They are an obvious threat in the hands of someone that decides to do something OTHER than tattooing.

Prisons are about conformity and they only give the opportunity to be a little different to prisoners in little bits, and even then only if they have to by law or to keep prinsoners from rebelling.

prison is for punishment. if they allow the prisoners this, its not punishment.
