I'm atheist and I'm the happiest I have ever been but I am just happy because I am. I don't think that being religious or nonreligious makes you happy though, I think happiness only depends on the you and no one else.

You just asked and answered your question. Too bad you can't pick yourself, huh? Are you looking for people to tell you why you aren't happy or something? I'm confused. And also, I'm Christian and I'm happy because:
1. I'm happy because I'm honest with myself
2. I'm happy because I dont have to wonder if I'm living a lie
3. I'm happy because I am proud for not allowing myself to be fooled like soooooo many people have
4. I'm happy because I know death is not the end and I understand how valuable life is.
5. I'm happy because I believe in myself
6. I'm happy because I love myself

Christians, do you know why us Atheists are happy?
Atheists, do you know why we Christians are happy?
1. Because we are honest with each other.
2. We're happy because we don't have to wonder if we're living the truth.
3. We're happy because we are proud by not being fooled by Satan's greatest lie (that Satan doesn't exist) as soooooooo many Atheists have.
4. We're happy because we know that death is the beginning of a new eternal life which enables us to understand how to treat others as we would like to be treated by them.
5. We're happy because we believe in God.
6. We're happy because we love God.

Would you like to know why I am content (not necessarily happy all the time, but content) as a Christian
1) I'm honest with myself (Thou shalt not lie)
2) Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. I know I'm not living a lie.
3) Jesus hasn't fooled me yet.
4) Death is the end which allows us to understand how valuable life on earth is and after death there will be eternal joy.
5) I believe in myself and in a God who believes in me and loves me and he also believes in you and loves you even though you may not believe it.
6) I love myself and a God who loves me. If I am to love my neighbor as myself, I have to first love myself.
7) (I'm adding this because I don't like ending with the number six [go ahead and laugh]) Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Peace out.

You answered your question well. Everything you want you got. Birth to death and you're done. I don't know you but that doesn't matter, because in the end of this age God will blot you out of existence.
Enjoy your life and be happy with want you have.><>

People like modesty, and if you're going to make a smart remark... make it smart. please, for those who like to be entertained.
but giving you the benefit of the doubt that you really stated your points for happiness: your six points are exactly what makes Christians happy. I'm sure you're right, it makes Atheists happy too--but all good things must come to an end, it's in human nature. Good for Christians, they're relying on God's eternal nature.

How can any person without God be truely happy.
There are no atheists in hell they are all believers.
just because you do not believe in God shows that you have already been fooled by many.
Maybe you should start loving other people as well and not just your self and you will realize that there is God who also love you, yea even if you don't believe in Him, He believes in you.

I'm Happy b/c I'm honest
I don't live a lie. I'm VERY proud of myself. I believe in myself and I love myself. But when I die I know I'm going to heaven. What does this have to do with anything.

happy: favored by circumstances; lucky; fortunate; having, showing, or causing a feeling of great pleasure, contentment, joy, etc.,; exactly appropriate to the occasion; suitable and clever; intoxicated or irresponsibly quick to act - but are you glad? a strong exultant feeling of joy. or cheerful? a steady display of bright spirit. or joyous? a usual temperament of rejoicing. As a Christian, I am not favored by circumstance or luck or fortune - but I am in all things glad, cheerful, joyous, and most assuredly blessed - to be envied and spiritually prosperous because of life joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of my outward conditions.
